|Look, time travel is like a ball of yarn...it all makes sense when you thing about it|
Since then I've used my machine to make window valances and duvets where I could always hide my seams. Very basic sewing. Now I want to make garments and lovely items with my handwoven fabric. I'm very fortunate to have friends who I can rely on to ask for help. I'm a wee bit older now (just celebrated my 29th birthday for the eleventh time) and I am learning about this novel concept called "patience". I hear it's a virtue and can totally save you a lot of stress so I thought I'd try it out and see how it works. By golly, it does ;-)
After an afternoon of test sewing on some muslin along with my friend Terri letting me cut her handwoven fabric to get the feel of using heavier fabric on my machine, it all started to make sense to me. Mama Melissa helped me with the fitting of the garment which is definitely a two person job.
I went home intending to sew with more "practice" fabric but I found myself cutting my own woven fabric and sewing....and sewing...and sewing then cutting with more sewing.
