First up, I took the first steps to conquering my sewing machine. So far, Janome 1: Andrea 0 I shall be meeting a couple of my friends tomorrow so they can show me what's going wrong and get me sewing so I can finish my first sewn project using my woven fabric. It sits there taunting me.
Next, I completed a special custom knit hat using my handspun yarn donated by Mr. Tumnus (spun during Tour de Fleece this summer) and my core spun yarn using fiber donated by Mr Tumnus's sire, Mystery, along with various other fibers from last year. Hopefully she likes the hat.
I'm making progress on my Ghostie socks. I might actually have to knit them more than just at lunch if I want to wear them this month. At least this second sock isn't giving me the grief that the first one did.
I've been making progress at my spinning wheel too. Another custom spin for a co-worker's daughter. She wants a special handspun yarn for her daughter (who she says I remind her of) so, of course, I picked one of my favorite fiber blends donated by Metallica to spin the yarn. I told her that once I have the yarn completed, I'd help her buy a shawl pattern that the yardage would fit with.
Finally, I started the cowl from my KAL. I'm just about done with the second repeat of the first chart. I really like this pattern. I've been excited to see the other participants share their progress on Ravelry. If you are interested in joining in on the fun, visit our RAVELRY GROUP PAGE for more details. I'm keeping the discount on the yarn for the remainder of the month.
