We are just finishing up our very fist swap as a group. Our theme was BOB (Bug Out Bag) as in what you need to survive in the zombie alpacalypse. Yes, I know I spelled it wrong. I included a couple of skeins of my Alpaca yarn plus two skeins of my handspun (which I shared already) plus two more items I made that I'm now going to reveal. First is another knitted batt using my Alpaca yarn for the batt, my handspun for the cape and stuffed with Alpaca Fiber. She has already named him Dixon after the show's character, Daryl Dixon. My spoilee really likes bats so I chose this as my knitted item. I also wove fabric for a bag I was going to make but me, the fabric and the sewing machine had a bit of a smack down and the fabric and I lost...BIG TIME! Stupid Sewing Machine. I took scissors to my fabric and decided that I needed to wet felt a bag instead so...I incorporated my weaving into the bag and am very pleased with the results. Unfortunately, I didn't get any process photos but the resist had the bag starting out about four feet long and the finished bag is about 18 inches. I LOVE how sturdy it is and have now remembered why I need to wet felt more often.
I have tons of photos from the BOB I received but promise to share those in a different post once I can get a good photo of me wearing the lovelies she made for me.
I also finished my LOVESOCKS! I was home sick from work for a couple of days with the crud so in between naps, I knitted. I am in love with these socks and am totally ready to cast on another pair.

ReplyDeleteI could use a pair of socks like that. My favorite pair of knee highs has great big holes in both heels. Strange, it's usually the toes.
