First I finished plying all of the bobbins of yarn that I've been spinning.
Then, I decided to knit a Hedgehog for Sister Bear. She wants one as a pet...NOT HAPPENING, so I used one of the adorable patterns written by Linda at Mama4Earth. Of all the Hedgie patterns I've seen, hers is the cutest. Mine didn't turn out quite as well as hers but definitely has character.I'm finally on my second Evenstar Mitten. While casting on the new mitten, I immediately found a major mistake in my first mitten. ARGH! So...I shall continue with the second mitten and may tear the first out completely depending on how the second turns out.
Finally, as promised a month ago, a photo of Grumpy modeling his Thor scarf that I wove. Now, share your adventures in Fiber Arts!

Hedgie is very cute, and I like your wools names. Coming up with them must be a whole art it itself.

A great start for the year! The yarns look amazing. Riddles In The Dark YUM! Someday mine will look, hopefully something like that.
ReplyDeletePoppy really pops! What are you planning to make with it? Or are you selling it?
ReplyDeleteStudy of Dude! What a great name. Care to share how you come up with it?
Study of Dude was named because the fiber was donated from a boy named Dude. I have spun a bunch of yarns from him and this is yet another experiment with coils using his yarn. Plus I had been watching A Study in Pink (Sherlock) and was inspired.
DeleteI think my grandsons need the hedgehog. Thanks for the link
ReplyDeleteI really like the Poppy....And the hedgehog! :)

ReplyDeleteWow....you did have a productive week! I really like all your yarns but Metallic and Study of Dude sure look interesting. Hopefully Sister Bear is content with her cute little friend and Grumpy looks quite dapper with his new scarf.
ReplyDeleteGood luck tomorrow at your show.
That poppy yarn is gorgeous! I started spinning a bit of alpaca a full month ago and haven't had a chance to get back to it since. I will be making it a priority this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration. I always find a nice dose of inspiration at Fiber Arts Friday.

ReplyDeleteWitam. Robisz fantastyczne rzeczy. Pozdrowniena z Polski. A przy okazji zapraszam cie na mojego bloga.
ReplyDeleteYou have been BUSY! The hedgehog is adorable and I'm sure it will become a longtime favorite of your DD. I'm wondering if I knit myself a big sheep if that will help me get over wanting one! ;) Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteBetter late than never...I'm late to the party. It's been so cold my brain hasn't wanted to do anything constructive all week. Your spinning is looking great Andrea. That orange/red yarn is especially pretty to me. It's always fun to see hedgehogs knit up. I hope that SisterBear enjoys hers. Nice job Mom.
